YACHTING
I have been sailing since 1965 when I first had the
opportunity to sail with the London Sailing Project, this project was set up in
1961 to allow disadvantage boys, Sea Scouts, Sea Cadets and boys from the
London Federation of Boys Clubs to experience life before the mast. I have been
very fortunate and have sailed most years with the project since that first
trip in 1965. I am now a mate.
Outside the project I skipper for the Bristol Sailing
Association. We have over a hundred members who share a common likeness of
sailing, but don’t own a boat. We charter a boat, from a number of different
locations, at least twice a month and have a monthly get together in Bristol to
chat about our various trips over a few beers.
